Outline Planning Submitted NEV

16/11/2017

The pivotal outline planning application at New Eastern Villages (NEV) has been submitted by Capital Land to Swindon Borough Council at the end of 2017. The application is for 1,800 homes, a 10 form entry secondary school (including 6th form), 2 form entry primary school, a sports hub, public open space and a local centre.

The proposal provides for a mix of house types which is believed will create a strong and identifiable character contributing to village placemaking. The proposals have been design led to ensure that the development will maximise landscape features and have a positive impact on the surrounding area. A range of landscape and biodiversity benefits will result from the open space strategy which is well above policy standards.

The site forms the central hub of the wider strategic New Eastern Villages which provides vital links from neighbouring developments to the wider infrastructure network . The proposal also provides the only source of secondary education within the strategic New Eastern Villages allocation which will not only provide for the proposed 4230 population but also the surrounding catchment areas.

Capital Land are proud to be able to play a key role in delivering this long awaited scheme and looks forward to continuing working closely with Swindon Borough Council over the coming years to ensure the scheme is delivered as envisaged.
